Newsletter 2012

Hello, and welcome past, present and future hunters of Trophies West. First, I would like to thank all the clients who supported Trophies West in 2011. I also would like to congratulate the successful hunters for harvesting some terrific animals, including a number of personal bests! Winter is treating us well so far this year with above average temperatures. The feed going into this winter is outstanding, and having a substantial amount of precipitation in the reservoirs will make for another great year at Trophies West in 2012. I know a lot of talk out there is that the number of animals are way down in Montana. Fortunately, we found that on our ranches with so much feed being present, the animals were just scattered due to feed being everywhere and not just limited to the hay fields during hunting season. Let our photo section be our proof once again. Please feel free to give us a call for some hunter references as to what they are seeing while in the field with us.

For you bird hunters, the goose, duck and pheasant hunting is as good as it gets since we have miles of agricultural fields along the Yellow Stone River leased. Be sure to check out the goose hunt we hosted with Benelli's " On Demand " TV show! For the turkey hunter, we have numerous opportunities to hunt these birds either along the river or we have access to some great private land in the hills.

New and exciting for Trophies West this year was the addition of Deb Collins our new cook and her husband Dale soon to follow as a guide. These folks have travelled extensively out west hunting different states and game animals. Deb has cooked in about every situation outdoors from open fires in tent camps, to preparing meals in our newly constructed lodge. Their food and how it's prepared, will simply amaze you after a long day in the field.

The newly constructed lodge is conveniently located and easy to find. It is very spacious with ample facilities for all your needs, as you would expect from a high quality hunt. The interior of the lodge is designed to give plenty of space to either sit and watch the big screen tv or socialize off to the side in the lounge area. Please check out the photos of the new lodge in the photo section.

Since the abolishment of the outfitter sponsored licenses, many new opportunities have arose. More land has come up for lease, as well as the licensing process has changed somewhat. With that being said, everything has been positive thus far for our clients. The licenses are on a draw system now and after the draw last year, hundreds of tags were left over and went on sale on a first come- first serve basis. So if by chance you miss the March 15th drawing deadline, please call us and we will guide you through the process to obtain a license. Acquiring a bonus point for $20 is a must also with the new licensing system. Please call for any further assistance when applying for a license.

As always, Trophies West is constantly looking at and trying to obtain quality leases to add to its portfolio. This is an endless daunting task that can be very rewarding when it all comes together. Several new ranches are scheduled to be visited this upcoming spring. As before, Trophies West wishes this upcoming hunting season fulfills all your dreams and expectations. We at Trophies West are looking forward to doing just that for our clients!

God Bless,

Craig & Troy
